Answers to the most important questions
Who can receive the weight-loss injection?
It is approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27–30 with weight-related health problems. It is not suitable for people with certain pre-existing conditions.
What side effects can occur?
Gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea can occur at the beginning. We minimise these by increasing the dose slowly.
Does health insurance cover the costs?
At present, the costs of Mounjaro purely for weight reduction (without diabetes) are not covered by health insurers.
